Homemade McRib Sandwich

How To Make A Delicious Copycat Mcrib Sandwich At Home!

It seems there is a McRib craze of sorts going on these days. We put together our version of this sandwich, cooking our ribs in a classic method. We used a good roll and topped the sandwich with pickles and slaw. Never having tried the McRib, this is our spin on how we would offer it!

 

• 1 Rack of St Louis Ribs

• 1 TBSP of All Purpose Seasoning

• 3 TBSP of BBQ Rib Seasoning

• 1/2 Cup of BBQ Sauce

 

We fired up our Big Green Egg to cook at 235 degrees indirect using a few pecan wood chunks.

While your smoker is coming up to temp, prep your ribs.

Remove the membrane and any heavy fat.

On the backside of the ribs using your knife, lightly score alongside each bone.

This will help the bones loosen for easier removal later.

We used the 3-2-1 method for cooking these, 3 hours unwrapped, 2 hours wrapped, one hour unwrapped to sauce.

After the ribs have been wrapped remove the foil, gently remove the bones and then sauce, place back on the smoker until your sauce sets up.

Remove ribs and cut into thirds, build your sandwich.

We used a warm French roll, placed pickles on the bottom, added a section of the ribs and topped with coleslaw. Enjoy!
