This was a classic from growing up! Thought we would share, it was a Friday dinner staple in our house.
Super simple and you can substitute for your favorite fish. Eat it on a bun or without, excellent with fresh cut French fries and slaw!!!
• 1 LB Haddock Fillet
• 1 TSP All Purpose Seasoning
• 3/4 Cup of AP Flour
• 2 TBSP of Corn Starch
• 1/4 TBSP of Baking Powder
• 1/4 TBSP of Baking Soda
• 2 TSP of Fish/Seafood Rub
• 3/4 Cup of Beer or Water
Set up your fryer to cook at 350 degrees.
Season the fish with the AP Seasoning.
Add all of your dry ingredients to a mixing bowl.
Add in your beer or water.
Using a whisk mix thoroughly until smooth.
Dunk each piece of fish into the batter until completely covered.
Carefully place into the fryer.
Fry the fish until golden brown and the fish is floating on the surface.
Remove from the oil and place on a rack to dry.
Toast a roll of your choice, put a generous amount of tartar sauce on each roll.
Add your pickle slices on the bottom and lettuce on top.
Serve with chips or fresh cut fries!
