Texas Style Turkey Breast

For this video we cooked on the Big Green Egg. We’re trying some Turkey Breast Texas Style. This recipe was easy and relatively quick. We think you will enjoy it.

We setup the Egg for Indirect cooking at 275 degrees. We threw in some Post Oak chunks for that authentic Texas smoke. For this cook we removed the skin completely from the Turkey Breasts along with any silver skin and fat. We used olive oil as a binder and then coated the turkey liberally with Kosmo’s Texas Beef and our own steak rub. We inserted our Thermoworks Dot probe to the thickest section of the breast and placed the turkey in the middle of our grate. In our video I had mentioned using butter which I decided against it.

Once the temp reached 145 degrees and I had the color I wanted, I wrapped it in foil. After reaching a temp 165 degrees we pulled the turkey off and let it rest. After resting we sliced the turkey and served with The Shed’s Mississippi Gold Sauce.

This turkey was very juicy and tender, the flavor from the Post Oak made the flavor pop very well. Give this recipe a try; we think you will like it!
