How To Make Salisbury Steak With Mushroom Gravy

Our family loves this classic dish. They were not fans of the frozen version of this dish, but quickly took a likening to mine. This is really a simple recipe that can be changed to fit your palette. This can be cooked on any grill, smoker or in your kitchen.

 

• 2 LBS of Ground Chuck or Brisket

• 2 Cups of Beef Stock

• 1/2 White Onion Minced Fine

• 2 Cloves of Garlic

• 3/4 Cup of Italian Bread Crumbs

• 1 TBSP of AP Seasoning

• 1 TBSP of Beef Seasoning

• 1 TBSP of Worcestershire Sauce

• 1 Large Egg

• 1 package of Mushrooms

• 3 TBSP of Butter

• 3 TBSP of Olive oil

• 1 TSP Kitchen Bouquet

 

Set your Oven or Smoker to 325 Degrees. Cut the onion into quarters, add the onion and garlic into a food processor and pulse until pureed. Add the mixture to a bowl, add in the Bread Crumbs, Egg, Seasoning, W sauce and ground beef. Mix well, heat a large skillet with the olive oil. Form the burger into oblong patties, brown on each side. Add the steaks to a half pan after browning both sides. Add the butter to the same skillet and melt, add in your mushrooms. Once the mushrooms are browned add the flour, stir until the flour cooks enough to lose its “flour” flavor. Add your Beef Stock and Kitchen Bouquet. Stir until the gravy is the consistency you like. Pour the gravy mixture over top of the steaks and cover the pan with foil, cook for 45 minutes. Remove and enjoy!
