Smash Burgers

on the RecTeq 700

This episode we did Smash Burgers on the RecTeq 700. These were simple and very tasty burgers that you could do on any grill. You can use any ingredients and condiments you prefer, but we kept it easy!

We just used caramelized onions and bacon jam!

·         1 LB of 80/20 Ground Chuck

·         1 LB of Mild Italian Sausage

·         1 TBSP of DB 180 AP

·         2 Onion Hamburger Rolls

·         1 TBSP of DB 180 Beef and Steak

·         1 Cup of Caramelized Onions

·         4 Slices of American Cheese

Mix the two proteins and the seasoning together thoroughly, do not over work the meat. Divide the meat into six individual balls and roll, like a meatball.

We preheated our grill to 400, and used our flat top accessory with the RecTeq.

Once your grill is at temp place the meat on the grill and spread out enough so they don’t touch when smashed.

Using a press, apply force to the burger, smashing it down to about a quarter inch thick.

Cook for 4 minutes, flip and repeat for four minutes. Add your cheese to two of the patties.

Split your rolls and toast on the flat top. Add some of the onions and bacon jam to the burgers with the cheese and place the remaining burgers on top, one on each.

Place another slice of cheese on top until melted completely.

Put the burgers on the buns and enjoy!
