Cowboy Ribeye Steak
Cowboy Ribeye on the RT700
This was simple and makes a quick and delicious steak.
We set our RT 700 to full which is around 500 – 510 degrees.
We used Grill Grates for this recipe for searing.
You will want your grates running between 500 to 600 degrees.
While your grill is coming up to temp trim any undesirable fat away from the steak.
Season liberally on all sides using your favorite steak rubs.
Let the steak sit until of the seasonings have been incorporated into the steak.
Once ready, lay your steak on the grill grates and apply a little pressure, add your weight and close the lid.
After 90 seconds, turn the steak 90 degrees and repeat the previous step.
After this turn remove the steak, clean your grates, spray with Duck Fat and repeat the two steps above on the other side.
After searing is complete insert a probe into the center of the steak and reduce the temp of your grill to 300 degrees. Once your temp reaches 135-138 degrees internally remove the steak, wrap in foil to rest for 15 minutes.
Cut it up and enjoy!
